Support › Forums › Flex Theme › Need help with image size and aspect ratio for slider
Hello. I’m a newbie in need of some assistance. I am using the Agency layout since I like the homepage slider with the photos going across the entire width of the page. The suggested image size is 1900×550. I purchased several large stock photos and thought the aspect ratios were close enough to the suggested dimensions that I would be able to resize and crop the images to fit. The photo sizes I purchased were 3463×2592, 2714×1822, and 2716×1810. The next smaller sizes for the respective photos are 1602×1199, 1697×1131, 1698×1131. I went with the larger sizes since I thought it would be easy enough to resize the width down to 1900.
When I resize the images to 1900 wide, the height is still significantly higher than 550. If I crop the images to 550 high, I can only see a small portion of the picture. I know that boxed layout slider uses an image size of 1080 x 550, but I really like the Agency layout with the images going across the width of the page.
Is there a different way to make the photos fit the slider dimensions? If not, do you you have any suggestions for a stock photo site that would have a decent selection of photos that are close in size to the suggested 1900×550?
Thanks!
Hi
You do not need to crop the images manually. Just upload the bigger images and WordPress will automatically crop it to 1900×550.
Thanks
Chinmoy
Thanks Chinmoy! I knew WordPress had that capability, but I wasn’t sure how it would look. Most of the images turned out fine. One still needs a little work, so I will try cropping it a bit and then re-uploading.
