    Hi,

Flex Pro no longer allows customization and if I try to customize or preview anything, I get a blank screen. I have version 1.7. I understand that my original purchase expired after 1 year and I just purchased and updated license. I am really unhappy about having to pay again. As I understood the original purchase, support would end after 1 year but not that the theme would stop working. $79 for a Genesis child theme is higher than most cost and I am okay with that but $79 a year is asking a lot for a theme. None of the other Studiopress themes have this limitation. I’ve paid for the upgrade but probably will not use this theme again nor recommend it to anyone else for this reason. Hopefully, you will either reconsider the annual renewal or make any changes that will break the theme with changes to wordpress. I am fine with coming back and paying for additional years of support but not to renew the theme. At the very least, the upgrade should cost less than the original purchase.

Having purchased a new license, I am not sure how to update the theme. Normally Genesis updates through the dashboard but I have never had a child theme update before. One of the reason we use Genesis is so themes don’t break when wordpress updates. How do I update the theme? Do I have to reinstall it? Is any customization to CSS lost when reinstalling?

    Here is the steps:

    1. Download the zip file
    2. Extract the zip file
    3. Connect to server via FTP/SFTP or CPanel -> File Manager
    4. Upload the file output.php from your local folder flex/lib/admin to your server path/wp-content/flex/lib/admin folder

Thanks for the instructions. I just want to make sure that this ‘output.php’ file won’t effect any existing customization.

I am not sure about it. It will not create any issue if you or your developer did not touch that file. Full things are totally depending on your customized work. I shall recommend that you will keep a backup of your current theme and update the file.

Okay, thank you. We didn’t make any changes to output.php but I will do a full backup, just in case.
