hello guys, is there a way to use the featured posts / slider widgets on ‘pages’? My old theme use to allow that, and now I have a dozen black pages like this recipes page http://www.chasingthedonkey.com/croatian-cooking-recipes/

    Thanks.

Your previous theme (Jupiter) had “visual composer” plugin bundled within the theme. It is “not” recommended, as user tends to lose all stuff added via visual composer when changing themes (like in this case). To create such pages explore either of the following option:

    1. Free page builder by site origin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/

    2. Visual composer plugin – http://codecanyon.net/item/visual-composer-page-builder-for-wordpress/242431

You need to create the widget areas on pages. if you have not much knowledge about PHP then you can try this plugin.

Thanks. I purchased this one – and then read th ehelp guides and it says I needed the second plugin – which I purchased. BUT it’s not working, I think that this is beyond my level. Is this your product? I want to arrange a refund and look at one of the other suggestions. Thanks heaps.

Looks like you purchased the ‘visual composer’ plugin. If you are unable to use it, check with their support or else you may look for refund option.

As such, you can add post widgets on pages easily using this free plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/ (try this once).
